Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Mitigation Measures currently employed

At Purely Irrigation, we are continuing to monitor the developments of coronavirus(Covid-19), and are following the expert guidance and advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Department of Health in Australia. Our customers, suppliers, subcontractors and associates are at the heart of everything we do – their health and well being, is our priority.

To ensure the safety of our customers, suppliers, subcontractors, associates, and ourselves, we are deploying the following procedures to minimise the risk of cross infection of Covid-19:

  • We are continually monitoring relevant information sources and updating control measures when and if necessary. We will continue to provide information to our workers and subcontractors, including changes to control measures, as the situation develops

  • None of our workers have traveled overseas or interstate during the outbreak of Covid-19

  • None of our workers have knowingly come in to contact with any known cases of Covid-19

  • None of our workers are currently unwell, or showing any known symptoms of Covid –19. In the event that any of our workers were to show any signs or symptoms of Covid-19, they will be asked to self-isolate for 14 days, and will not be engaged in any site based work during this time.

  • We will provide our workers and subcontractors with appropriate personal protective equipment, as well as information and training on how and why they are required to use them

  • We have notified all workers to practice good hygiene, including:

    • frequent hand washing

    • use of hand sanitisers before, during and after work is carried out on a customers premises, as well as before and after the collection of materials from public wholesalers

    • maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres, limiting contact with others wherever possible, including ‘not shaking hands’, and avoiding all other physical contact with others

    • ensure customers are made aware of the work area our workers need access to, and limiting customer access during our workers engagement in these areas.

    • covering their mouths while coughing or sneezing

    • not attending to any work situation whilst unwell, or exhibiting any flu like symptoms

Additional control measures may also be deployed in certain situations, like disinfecting work areas if considered necessary. Special measures may also be needed when working in Aged Care Facilities, Retirement Villages, or other Healthcare facilities that we currently support.  We are continuing to monitor the situation and will adapt to this fast-changing situation however necessary.

At this stage we are working hard to maintain a ‘business as usual’ approach to all ongoing work requests issued to us. Although the majority of our works are outdoors, and require very little access indoors, we accept that there will be some cases where tenants, or occupants of a property, may not feel comfortable with the presence of workers in or around their home, and we will respect this accordingly. Some work requests may have to be rescheduled for a time when conditions are more suited, and the risk has lessened.

We will be conducting regular reviews to keep you updated with our stance on this dynamic and evolving situation, as we maintain a flexible and agile approach to circumstances as they arise. Please feel free to contact us at any time, and please keep us informed of any concerns or issues you may have.

Meanwhile we assure you all of our commitment to maintain a high standard of service during this difficult time, to all of our customers. Stay safe, and keep well.
